What causes mosquito bites to itch?

Each year, a large number of individuals are bitten by mosquitoes, but each bite has a different effect. When a mosquito bites, it draws out blood and injects some saliva at the same time. Proteins and an anticoagulant are found in their saliva.

The body’s immune system is triggered by the proteins, which are foreign substances. Histamine, a chemical that facilitates white blood cell access to the damaged area, is released by the body’s immune system in order to combat them. The scratchiness, swelling, and inflammation are caused by histamine.
